If both the Translations and Consolidations modules are in use, you can access a Translation form on the Global Finance tab on the GL Account Maintenance form.
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Use currency historical rates
The default value is false, enabling you to choose a translation level and rate type. If it is selected, the transaction level is forced to Transaction and you can't select a rate type. Each transaction in the general ledger account uses the exchange rate of the posting date of the transaction.
Translation level
If the translation level is GL Account, the process translates using the level set for the account:
Note: If you are using Global Finance Consolidations, ensure your translated values are at the same level as the consolidation.
Translation Rate type
Select Module default to use the defaults assigned on the Translation Module Control form for different types of accounts — for example, income or expense. To change the Module Control default, you can select a specific rate type to use for the selected account.
