An advanced search feature is available to use within maintenance forms for these modules:
The feature provides detailed search options enabling masterfile records to be found easily based on user-defined criteria.
To use the feature, click the binocular icon on the masterfile toolbar or press F4. When the advanced search is activated, the form contains search criteria for the masterfile.
This section of the form layout presents the properties of the object, like an inventory item, you can search for. The most likely search filters display on the form as a default (for example, code, location, and the like).
Click the More or Less buttons to add or remove search criteria. This gives you access to additional criteria for the masterfile, not shown on the form as a default.
The selection criteria options are using the type of property you are applying as search criteria. Generic options are:
Note: These are all case insensitive, except those marked with an asterisk.
Select a masterfile tree to include in the advanced search criteria. This is a three step process:
The Select tree branches button is enabled on the search form.
Select the option next to the branch or branches to select, and click OK.
You can search with any user-defined fields set up for the masterfiles you are searching for. When you click the More button, user-defined fields display in the bottom of the dropdown list. The search criteria that you can apply to user-defined fields will depend on the nature of the field.
Click the Search Now button to apply the search criteria. Results appear in the Search results table at the base of the search form. To select a masterfile to return to the original form via which the search was activated, double click the line in the search results table.
The advanced search form closes if you select Close search form on selection. You can select another masterfile to supercede the current selection if required.
