Use this tab to view existing general ledger account sequences, and define new ones.
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Existing Sequences
These are the sequences that have already been defined for this company's general ledger. The levels are segments defined in your chart of accounts (COA). For example, if you have three segments in your COA, you have three levels. Ordering levels in different ways creates a sequence.
Sequence Name
Enter a name to recognise the general ledger sequence by.
Select Maintenance, Transactions, and/or Enquiry to indicate which forms the sequence applies to. For example, if you select Maintenance, this sequence is the one presented when a general ledger account is selected or entered in all maintenance forms.
This table displays the details of the selected sequence. For each segment you can specify:
For example, if you have an account structure: XX.YYY.ZZZ, and segments XX and YYY are persistent, when a form is cleared the account segment values for XX and YYY remains in the General Ledger account selection field. The cursor moves to the start of the last segment.
Define New Sequence
Click this button to save the current sequence and set up a new sequence.
