Define Segments

Use the Define Segments form to create the values for each of the segments for your general ledger account. General ledger validations use this value to create and maintain a consistent general ledger chart of accounts.

You can enter the values for each segment in the grid or update them by importing a CSV file. Once the segments are defined they are used in the validation matrix to build the chart of accounts. The matrix will define which segments can be used with natural accounts and other segments.

You can also use this form to define the quad masking, if in use. If you're using quad masking as part of the segment definition (and the loan accounts exist in the general ledger chart), you must establish loan maintenance because the quad processing uses the masking to obtain the inter-company loan accounts.
