Create TFN Declaration File

This form creates a file containing the Tax File Number (TFN) information collected on the employee records, which you can upload to the ATO Business Portal.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Folder

Enter or select the folder in which to save the TFN file.

To Date

Enter or select the last date on which to submit your TFN file. After the first submission, this date defaults to 14 days after the last date of the frequency at which you must submit the file to the ATO.

File version

Select:

4.0 - The TFN declaration file that incorporates changes to loan indicator fields.
3.0 - The TFN declaration file that you must use from 30 September 2017 onwards, which incorporates changes to the way in which employees who are working holiday makers are taxed.
2.3 - You can continue to use this version of the TFN declaration file after 30 September 2017 if the employee is not a working holiday maker.
