Text Maintenance

Use this function to edit text in the Webstore templates. If the same text is used multiple times within a template, or across different templates, you only need to set it up once. You can edit the text in one place and Greentree Desktop applies the edit to templates containing a reference to the text.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Reference

Enter a unique reference for the text string, up to 30 alphanumeric characters.

Description

Enter a description, up to 60 characters to identify the nature of the text for your reference.

Text

Enter the text that displays on your web pages if the template is linked to the associated reference. The amount of text is unlimited but you must ensure that it fits into the space that is provided on the template.

You can add the text:

Within Webtext.txt - Within a webtext segment of the webtext.txt file, in a similar fashion to the way existing pre-populated text fields are used. To see how these are used, look at webtext.txt in the Templates folder, and search for <text id= - for example, <text id=checkout_oneitemover>, which is in the checkout:oneitemover webtext segment.
Within Templates - Within any template, you can add a tag named <Greentree ecom products text_reference> if reference matches the reference for a new Text field on the Webstore Text Maintenance form. This will put this text into the web page if this tag is found after the tag is reloaded into Webstore and the text field is populated.
