Inventory Trees Tab
This tab defines which catalogues are available to web users within each security group. Catalogues are based on inventory trees. You can specify as many trees as you want per group.
Note: The greater number of trees you specify, the longer the it takes for the catalogue page to load.
One tree must be flagged as the default tree. One tree can be flagged as a specials tree. A tree can be a special tree or the default tree. You can flag one tree as a delivery tree; this tree is not displayed along with the other catalogue trees. The tree's contents display in a dropdown box on the shopping cart page allowing the user to select a delivery method. The delivery tree will only contain one branch under which all delivery items are placed.
You specify which catalogue template to use against each tree. You can have a different template for each tree. This might be necessary to display pictures of the items in one tree but not in another. By clicking the Set/Edit button on any tree, you can define templates for each branch of a tree that displays.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Tree
Select an inventory tree, from those defined on the Inventory Item Tree Maintenance form. Each tree corresponds to a catalogue to make available to users belonging to this security group.
Code
The code is a 10 character key that can be used in the catalogue template on the form <Greentree ecom include tree_code> if code is the code defined here. You can add a tree to the category.ect template. Other options include the display of the specials tree using <Greentree ecom include specialstree> and the display of all trees using <Greentree ecom include tree>.
For more information about this, Tree Include Tags in the Webstore Designers Guide topic, which you can find in the Technical Guide on Greentree Desktop's FTP site.
Display Name
If you do not want to display the name of the tree on the web page, enter a display name here. This name displays on the web page to represent the tree/catalogue.
Entry Branch
If applicable, you can select a specific branch which is the point of entry for users belonging to this security group. This is a useful way to restrict access to a particular branch (and sub-branches) within a tree if it is only relevant for customers to see a portion of the tree.
Note: You can specify the same tree multiple times in the table, each with a different entry branch.
Default
There must always be one default tree assigned per group so that when a user from this group enters your Webstore site, this tree displays. The default tree always be displayed with all of its first level tree branches listed.
Template
Select the catalogue template to use when web users belonging to this group browse items in this tree (the template is category.ect).
Note: You can override this at a branch level by clicking the Set/Edit button.
Each time a web group is loaded, a check is made that all Inventory trees have templates that match an existing template page in the loaded Webstore templates. If a template does not exist, a message comes up asking if Greentree Desktop should set all mismatched templates to the default.
After reloading templates, if the new set of templates do not contain
the same category.ect file copies
(for example: category_intro.ect),
and some branches have been set to use these category_something.ect
templates, each web group Inventory Trees
tab must be selected.
If the Branches column contains the Edit
button, you must click this and look at template settings that are using
a category_something.ect file
that does not exist now, and change it to one that does exist in the dropdown,
or the default category.ect file.
Specials
You can flag one tree as a specials tree. This can be the same as the default tree. You can select a price book for the special tree if required, however Greentree Desktop uses Greentree Desktop selling price hierarchy if no price book is specified. If a price book is specified, the prices for that price book are highlighted as specials on the shopping cart page. The best price is always offered to the customer.
Price Book
You can only select a price book with the inventory tree that has been flagged as the Specials tree. This price book overrides that found on the customer, or the AR Control if none is set on the customer.
When a price is given to a customer that is obtained from this price book it is flagged in the shopping cart as such (!! = special price). If the customers normal price is less than the special price, then the normal price applies even if the web user selected the item from the specials catalogue.
Delivery
One tree can be flagged as a delivery tree. Rather than being displayed in the Catalogue pages with the other trees, its contents display in a dropdown box on the shopping cart page, allowing the user to select a delivery method.
For this feature to apply, delivery methods and their associated price should be set up as non-diminishing inventory items on the Inventory Item Maintenance form (to form a tree or branch).
Active
If this option is not selected, the tree or catalogue is not be visible in Webstore.
Branches
Buttons in this column will read Set or Edit, depending on whether defaults have already been defined at a branch level. Click the button if required to set options at a branch level, and to assign a branch level catalogue template if applicable (which overrides the one selected in the table for the tree).
Refresh Trees
If any changes have been made to inventory trees, click this button to ensure the changes are refreshed to Webstore and reflected on the catalogue web pages.
