System General Ledger Structure

Use this form to define or change your general ledger structure. You access it under System > System Setup > System General Ledger Structure.

Setup General Ledger Structure

Use this form to set up the general ledger structure for the company you are logged in to. This is one of the first things you must do before you start using a Greentree Desktop system.

Select the Segment separation character, then click Add new segment to add the first general ledger segment. Select the segment's Type, and define the segment's Length. To add more than one segment, click Add new segment and define each segment until the structure is complete.

If there is an alternative general ledger sequence set up on the General Ledger Module Control form, you cannot change the Length field. If you must change the length of a general ledger segment, you must delete any alternative sequences first.

The total length of a general ledger account segment, including separators, cannot exceed 32 characters.
