Changing References
WARNING: Editing a reference is more dangerous than editing an attribute. Be careful when committing a change. If you are unsure, contact your Greentree consultant before making a change.
If you drill down on a reference from the results table, and change the value of an attribute on that reference, it is not actually only the selected record you are changing. You are in fact changing the attribute of the reference for all objects that reference it.
For example, if you drill down into mySalesperson from the Customer class, and change the name attribute, you are not changing the salesperson the customer belongs to. You are changing the name of the salesperson. This change is reflected in Greentree Desktop if the salesperson's name would normally be seen.
To change the salesperson a single customer belongs to, you must change the object ID of the reference mySalesperson.
