Fax Task Type
You can only set up one fax processor.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Dialling prefix
Most telephone systems have a dialling prefix to obtain an outside line. The fax device uses the prefix as a default so that you do not need to enter it every time you enter a fax number.
Entering a comma (,) after the prefix number specifies that there should be a pause, to ensure a dial tone is detected before the fax number is dialled.
Number of retries
Enter the number of times you want the fax processor to try to send a fax if the receiving line is busy. You can enter a number between 0 and 99. The default setting is 3.
Initialisation string
Some modems require an initialisation string. Consult the manual shipped with your modem.
Page margins
To ensure that a fax arrives at its destination in full, you can specify the left and right page margins to ensure the contents of the report are scaled to fit in them.
Some reports are printed to the edge of the page and this can be truncated by most faxes. A safe value is 10 millimetres for both left and right margins.
Fax Devices
Once the fax processor is set up, specify a fax device. Click the Query fax devices button to search the computer on which this function is being run and display all devices found.
If Greentree Desktop finds more than one device, it selects the first device in the list. Make sure the correct device is selected.
Query fax devices
Click this button to search the computer on which the processor is being run, and display all fax devices found. If more than one device is found, make sure you select the correct one.
Note: If you
have not installed the FaxMan software, an error message displays to indicate
that the software isn't registered on the machine, and that you must install
it before you can set up fax devices.
Some installation instructions are included in the message. Follow the
instructions to install FaxMan, then select Query
fax devices again.
