Rebuild Files
Use this utility to rebuild of indexes in one or more of the database files, using the object sequence. It can fix small problems within a database that were highlighted after you ran the Certify Files utility. If the rebuild process removes certification errors, the database should not be trusted. Rebuilding a database ensures physical integrity but may further compromise logical integrity by removing hanging or lost objects.
The rebuild utility should always be used with care, a rebuilt database is not necessarily free of problems.
Use jdbutil.exe to run the rebuild utility. Select the Rebuild Files option from the Operation menu, select Add All files, and click OK.
A progress dialog displays while this operation running. You can abort the run by clicking the Cancel button. When the operation is finished, this message displays:
<Database file rebuild complete>>
Refer to rebuild.log for an analysis
This process generates a file called rebuild.log, which is output to the \log directory.
