Invoice Dating

When Greentree Desktop generates an invoice, these rules apply when determining the invoice's posting date:

  1. If the Module Control option Use today's date when generating invoice from packing slip maintenance is selected, today's date is used.
  2. If the Module Control option Use today's date when generating invoice from packing slip maintenance is not selected, these rules apply:
    • If the sales order or packing slip document date is earlier than the start date of the current period, the invoice posting date is the start date of the current period.
    • If the sales order or packing slip document date falls within the current period, then:
      • If today is earlier than the current period, the invoice posting date is the sales order or packing slip document date.
      • If today is in the current period, then the later date between the sales order or packing slip document date and today is the invoice posting date. If the order is future-dated, the future-date is used.
      • If today is in a future period, the invoice posting date is the end date of the current period.
    • If the sales order or packing slip document date is in a future period, the invoice posting date is the document date.
