Additional Line Detail


Use this form to enter all transaction types: sales, quotes and returns. Details are for the line that is selected on the Transactions form when this form is accessed. The extent to which you can edit details depends on the options selected on the POS User Preferences form.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

The transaction header details remain displayed on the form when the Additional line detail form is accessed.

Inventory item

This field displays the inventory item code and description for the selected line.

This field is read only.

Price level

This field displays the price level of the selected line. You can edit this field if the POS User Preference option Price level is selected. Otherwise, this field is read only.

Location

This field displays the location of the selected line. You can edit this field if the POS User Preference option Location is selected. Otherwise, this field is read only. Locations default to transaction lines in the first instance using the hierarchy outlined on the Location Logic form.

Unit measure

This field displays the selling unit of measure of the selected line. It can only be edited if the POS User Preference option Unit measure is selected. Otherwise, this field is read only..

Tax type

This field displays the tax type of the selected line, which is taken from the customer. You can only edit the tax type if you want to change the way the total displays: tax inclusive or exclusive.

Tax code

This field displays the tax code of the selected line, which uses the system hierarchy. You can only edit the tax code if the POS User Preference option Tax code is selected. Otherwise, this field is read only.

Disc %

This field displays the discount percentage of the selected line. You can edit the percentage. The Discount displays as read only and is the calculated discount value using the percentage.

Tax %

This field displays the tax percentage of the selected line, which uses the tax code. You can only edit the percentage if the POS User Preference option Tax % is selected. Otherwise, this field is read only.

Note: If the tax code does not allow the rate to be changed, you cannot change the rate regardless of whether the user preference option is selected or not.

Narration

You can enter a narration of unlimited length to attach to the transaction line. This is for reference only.
