EFTPOS Processing
EFTPOS processing uses these types of transactions:
(a) Receipt from card with pin number
When the EFTPOS receipt method is selected, a form displays the purchase amount. This indicates that the EFTPOS terminal has received the transaction.
The Cancel button is only enabled until confirmation is received from the EFTPOS terminal - see (e) below. Once the terminal has accepted the transaction and printed a receipt, the OK button is enabled. Click OK to close the form and enter a new transaction.
(b) Receipt from Credit Card without pin number
The same scenario outlined above applies. An additional prompt displays after you accept the transaction to ensure the signature is checked.
Click Yes to confirm the signature is checked and is acceptable. The form closes so you can enter a new transaction. Click No to cancel the transaction if the signature is not accepted.
(c) Receipt with cash out request
You must enter the amount of the purchase inclusive into the Amount field before processing. For example, if the transaction value is $45.00 and the customer has requested $20.00 cash, the Amount you enter is $65.00. As the transaction is being sent to the EFTPOS terminal, a form displays both the purchase and cash out amount.
The Cancel button is only active until confirmation is received from the EFTPOS terminal - see (e) below. Once the terminal has accepted the transaction and printed a receipt, the OK button is enabled. Click OK to close the form and enter a new transaction.
(d) Refund
When the EFTPOS receipt method is selected, a form displays the refund amount. This indicates that the EFTPOS terminal has received the transaction.
Click OK to close the form and enter a new transaction.
If the receipt is cancelled as it is processing, a message displays. Click OK to confirm the cancellation and the EFTPOS receipt is not processed.
(f) Recovery from power failure
In there is a power failure between the EFTPOS transaction being accepted and Greentree Desktop being updated, you must perform a manual EFTPOS transaction. Greentree Desktop displays a message when the Point of Sale Sales Entry form is next entered to indicate there are unapplied EFTPOS transactions at the station.
Click OK to view the Eftpos Station Reversal form.
The table displays the reversals that are available. When a line is highlighted, the transaction receipt details displays. Select Reverse to reverse the transaction.
