Factory Order Line Entry

Component detail defaults to the Select materials tab when the Show materials button is clicked. Component lines appear in order using the Sequence that was assigned to them on the Bill of Material Maintenance form. Line items are sorted by item code in the sequence.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Code

This field displays the component item code. If the Allow additional materials option is selected for the bill of material of the order, you can enter lines into this table by selecting an inventory code in this field.

This field is read only.

Description

This field displays the description of the component item code.

This field is read only.

UOM

This field displays the stocking unit of measure for the component item.

This field is read only.

Location (if in use)

This field displays the current location of the component item. If the component has quantities in more than one location, multiple lines for each location display for the component.

This field is read only.

Qty available

This field displays the quantity of the component item that is available at the line location.

This field is read only

Qty required

This field defaults to the quantity and required factory order quantity of the component of the bill of material.

If locations are in use, you can change the quantity required for each location. The sum of quantities must equal the original quantity required before the order can be saved.

Select

Click this option to select the component item and location combination to apply to the factory order. The line is selected if the available line quantity is greater than the line quantity required. If locations are in use, Greentree Desktop selects the first location if the quantity available is greater than the quantity required.

If the first location quantity available is less than the quantity required, then no lines are selected. Select each line when the quantity required values have been updated at the line location.

Narration

This is taken from component line narration of the parent's bill of material. You can change it for the factory order unless the order has a status of Completed or Closed.

Note: Line narration edits only take effect if the Select option is selected for the line before saving the order.
