Price Book Maintenance
You can specify multiple price book selling rates for labour and materials that apply to activities, jobs, items, or employees. You can also use price books to record selling prices that have been agreed using a contract before job commencement.
Every job must have a default price book assigned to it on the Job Maintenance form. This is the price book that Greentree Desktop uses to determine the selling price for a job's transaction cost line.

You can select a profit centre group to limit access to the price book to specific profit centres. For example, if a cost transaction is entered for a job belonging to a profit centre outside the group, Greentree Desktop ignores this price book when determining the selling price.
Users can edit the price books that belong to their profit centre group. Users who have access to the profit centre group All Profit Centres can edit all job cost price books. All users can edit price books that do not have a profit centre group selected.
Limit to Job
If you assign a specific job code, the price book only determines selling prices for transactions for that job.
Default Inventory Price Level

You can specify prices for both material and labour transactions using:
(A) | Materials
Material price books apply to JC disbursement, purchase, plant charges, and inventory transfer transactions. When you are setting up material prices, you can set the sell rate or a markup percentage (based on activity code cost). You can set them at an:
The a markup percentage applies to the cost price, rather than a fixed per unit price being specified. |
(B) |
Labour Labour price books apply to JC Timesheet transactions. You can set a specific sell rate for one or any combination of: Activity Code, Employee Type, and Employee. The rate defaults to timesheet lines using the criteria assigned here. As price books are assigned to jobs using Job Maintenance, the job updates to the Assigned Jobs table, so you can see which jobs are using the selected price book. Note: Activity codes are available using the Type that is assigned to them on the Activity Code Maintenance form. For example, only Time types are available as labour activity codes. |
If the Advanced Job Cost module is in use, you can set up prices to apply across specified date ranges.
