Bulk Assign Dimensions

This form is enabled if you are using the Dimension Tracking function. Use the process to assign dimensions to several items at one time, based on an analysis code range.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Analysis Code

Select the analysis code, or range of codes for which the bulk dimension assignment applies.

The remaining fields on this form and the dimension assignment process are the same as the fields and the process on the Assign Item Dimensions form.

Dimension type

Select the dimension type that is for the item. You can assign any active dimension for the selected dimension type to the item.

Dimension group

If you have set up a dimension group for the selected type, select it. If one of the previously defined dimension groups was specified as the default, it defaults to this field when the type is selected.

When you add the detail, click the Assign Dimensions button. Greentree Desktop assigns dimensions to items based on these criteria:

The item has an analysis code that falls in the selected range.
The item is dimension-controlled.
The item has an active status.
The item does not already have dimensions assigned.

Note: If Greentree Desktop finds items matching the above criteria that already have dimensions assigned, a message displays listing those items. The items are excluded from the update. You can print the exception list to review individual items.
