Sales Order Entry

You don't need to enter dimension details when entering the order, except when the item is both serial/lot controlled and dimension controlled, and the Sales Orders Module Control option Serial/lot numbers required at SO Entry is selected.

Note: You can't generate and print an invoice from the SO Entry form unless dimension details have been entered for a dimension-controlled item.

If dimension details are assigned to sales order lines, you can view them by clicking the Dimensions button on the SO Line Item tab while on the dimension-controlled item line.

SO Release Backorders

If there is a backorder quantity for an inventory line for a dimension controlled item, you can release it using the SO Backorder Release form. You don't need to enter dimension details when backorders are released, except when the item is both serial/lot controlled and dimension controlled, and the Sales Orders Module Control option Serial/lot numbers required at SO Entry is selected.

SO Packing Slip Maintenance

If dimension details have been entered for a sales order line, you can view or edit them by clicking the Dimensions button on the PS Line Item tab while on a dimension-controlled item line.

If dimension details have not been entered, you can enter them. This is not mandatory, except when generating or printing an invoice from this form.

SO Generate Invoices

If dimension details have not been entered for a sales order or packing slip line, you must enter them before Greentree Desktop can generate invoices.

If you try to generate an invoice if dimension details have not been entered, Greentree Desktop prompts you to enter details using the Packing Slip Maintenance form before generating the invoice.

Note: If packing slips are not in use, Greentree Desktop forces mandatory entry when entering sales orders.

SO and PS Line Quantity Edits

If you edit or cancel the quantity committed for a line, you must re-enter or re-confirm the dimension details so Greentree Desktop can revalidate the dimensions with the updated line quantities.
