G/L Allocations Tab
Use the table on the G/L Allocations tab to split payroll expenses, using a percentage value and general ledger account masking at pay entry or processing. This is enabled by selecting the G/L Allocations option on the transaction types to allocate across the multiple accounts. Any allocation setup with the employee is copied to the pay. You can alter the percentages or masking if required.
When the payments are created, Greentree Desktop updates the general ledger to the allocation accounts based in the masking and percentages used for the employee.
Transaction trees set on the Allocations tab are overridden if there are transaction trees set on the individual pay lines. The pay line takes precedence over the allocation for trees.
Note: If mandatory trees are in use, the mandatory trees are checked with the allocation lines, not the pay lines.
If allocations and general ledger accruals are in use on the leave transaction type, the allocations also determine the accounts and transaction trees that the accrual expense lines are posted to when accruals are being run.
