Transaction Tree Advanced Search
Click the Advanced Search button on the GL Maintenance form, which is enabled when the GL Transaction Analysis module is in use.
Click the button to create a New search, select from a list of existing searches to edit (click Edit this search) or view results (click Search now).
When a New search is set up, the Advanced Search Design form displays. The form lists the Available dimensions for the search. These are the trees that are assigned as transaction trees, and system standard dimensions Calendar and GL Account.
To create a search, drag any or all of dimensions into the Across (represents the X axis when viewing results), or Down (represents the Y axis when viewing results) sections.
To add this to the query, drag the data to display into the bottom left section of the form. If you add more than one group of data to display, each displays separately for each x-axis dimension. The data is positioned in the results table based on whether or not the display data is positioned in the section here.
When a query is created, press F2 or click the Save icon. You must enter a Name and Description for the search before you can save it. Then, select the saved search from the main form and click Search now to run the search and output results.
Filtering Output
You can refine search results by clicking on a topic that is dragged into the query. For example:
Filtering based on GL Account
For this system dimension, you can filter query results by a single account, selected accounts, or a range of accounts. If you select a range of accounts, you can enter a general ledger account range using actual accounts, or using a wildcard.
Click OK to save selections and return to the search design form.
Filtering based on Calendar
For this system dimension, you can filter query results based years and periods. Click the + to extend a calendar into periods to enable period selection.
Click OK to save selections and return to the search design form.
Filtering based on Transaction Tree
For transaction tree system dimensions, you can filter query results based on all, or a selection of branches. Click the + to expand a tree branch to enable selection of lower level branches.
Formatting Output
Data to display can be formatted by clicking a button. For example, click the Actual value button in the search to open the Font form. Set the format and click OK to return to the search design form.
