Main Tab
Use this tab to indicate which functions in the Sales & Marketing module are authorised to use a product. You can also indicate the tax code relevant to the product.
In addition to these, you can update the product prices from inventory by clicking the Update prices from Inventory button.
You can select to update any of these prices:
- Non-stock Sell - The selling price for non-stock items, such as postage.
- Stock Item Sell - The selling price for an item in stock, this price includes profit and can be inclusive or exclusive of tax.
- Stock Item Cost - The basic price of manufacturing or for obtaining the item. No tax or profit is included in this price.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
CRM Product Code
Enter a unique code. This field is alphanumeric. Greentree Desktop can generate the codes.
CRM Product Description
Enter a description for the CRM product, up to 90 alphanumeric characters.
Sales
Indicate which Sales & Marketing items can use the product. If you select this option, the product is available for selection as a line item on the item's Maintenance form, Line Items tab. These Sales & Marketing items are available for selection: Leads, Quotes, and Orders.
If you select Quotes, you can select Hold Price on Quote. If selected, the CRM product price is used on a quote. If deselected, the price of all inventory and non-stock items is recalculated on the quote.
The recalculated price uses the current prices in Greentree. All CRM products that are available for orders must have sub-items. CRM products are available for orders if the Order option is selected on the Main tab on the Product Maintenance form.
Hold Price on Quote
Select this option if you want the CRM product's price to use on the quote. If not selected, the price of all the inventory and non-stock items included in the CRM product is recalculated when used on a quote. The recalculated price uses the current prices in Greentree Desktop.
Hold Cost on Quote
Select this option if you want the CRM product's cost to use on the quote. If not selected, the cost of all the inventory and non-stock items included in the CRM product is recalculated when used on a quote. The recalculated cost uses the current costs in Greentree Desktop.
CRM Product Tax Code
Select the tax code that applies to the CRM product. The tax code is used when allocating the CRM product to a quote, and when the quote is converted to an invoice or sales order.
Note: The AR customer tax code supersedes the CRM product tax code.
CRM Product Currency
This field defaults to the base currency for the current company. You cannot edit this field.
Discount
This field is automatically calculated using the discount specified for each sub-item entered. This field represents the total discount for the product.
Ex Tax
This field is automatically calculated using the line total for each sub-item entered. This field represents the line total for the product, which is equal to price minus the discount for all sub-items. If the From Lines option is not selected, then you can change the ex tax price.
Margin
This field is automatically calculated, using the profit margin specified for each sub-item entered. This field represents the total profit margin for the product.
From Lines
If you select this option, the totals field is calculated using the amounts entered per sub item. If deselected, you can specify your own price for the product exclusive of tax.
Note: If both this option and Hold Price on Quote are deselected, then the updated price is ignored and the latest inventory prices displays on the quote. You shouldn't deselect this option if the price is to be recalculated during quote generation.
CRM Product Items Table
This table lists all the sub items contained in the CRM product. You can select a row in the table to view the detail of the selected item on the Sub Items tab.
Note: You can also maintain the sub item detail through the entries in the table.
