Service Tab


The Service tab is enabled if the Service & Support/Contracts option is selected on the Main tab.

This tab captures default values to use for calls or service requests created for the location. It also sets the job template to use with the Auto create job from Service Request option, set on the Service tab of the Module Control form.

If you select this option, Greentree Desktop creates a job when you save each new service request using the job template selected.

If a job template does not exist on the Service tab, then Greentree Desktop uses the default job defined on the Service tab on the Module Control form. If a default job is also not defined on the Module Control form, then Greentree Desktop prompts you to select a job template if the Prompt for Job Template option is selected on the Service tab on the Module Control form. If not selected, Greentree Desktop opens the Job Maintenance form, defaults the values from the service request, and leaves the Job form open.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Auto Generate

Select this option to automatically generate the number for a service request for this location. If you select this option, you can define a Prefix and a Next Number.

Prefix

Enter a prefix for the service request number. The prefix is used if the Auto generate option is selected.

Next Number

Use this field to enter the next number to use when the automatically generate code is performed.

Default Service Level

Enter the default service level for the location to indicate its importance. The service level is used when determining the default service level when a service request is created for this location.

Default Service Group

Select the default service group to use for the location. The service group defaults when a new service request is created for the location. If service group is when the service person is selected, then service group uses the service person selected. This applies only if the service person belongs to only one service group.

Default Service Person

Select the default service person for the location. The default service person is used to default the service person on a service request, created for this location.

Profit Centre

Select the profit centre for the location.

Branch

select the branch for the location.

Default Template for Job

Select the template to use when a job is created from a service request for this location. If a default job template is not selected on this tab, then Greentree Desktop uses the template selected on the on the Service tab on the Module Control form.

If a default job is not selected on the Module Control form, then if the Prompt for Job Template option is selected, Greentree Desktop prompts you to select a job template.
