Payroll Tab
This tab is only enabled if the Allow Payroll transactions option on the General tab on the eTimesheets Module Control form is selected.
Use the settings on this tab to update pay entry from eTimesheets, along with job costing. You must setup the Module Control settings on this tab and:
- Ensure the pay transaction types have been enabled for eTimesheet entry using the Pay Transaction Type Maintenance form.
- In the eTimesheet employee setup, you must ensure that the Transfer hours to Payroll option is selected and the payroll transaction types are available for use for each employee.
The Module Control settings on this tab is also available on the Payroll tab on the eTimesheet Employee Configuration form, in display only mode.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Process all Transactions to Payroll
Select this option to ignore all validations and set all the lines for payroll use.
If you don't select this option, then Greentree Desktop validates if the transaction type exists, is active and allowed to use for eTimesheets. If not, an error displays.
An error also displays if:
- The transaction type field is empty but it is mandatory.
- The Payroll Classification field is empty but it is mandatory.
Display Transaction Type
Select this option to enable the user in eTimesheets to see the payroll transaction type field on their input.
Note: If the payroll transaction type is set to mandatory and this option is deselected, you can only save a line on an eTimesheet if the job, activity, or work centre mapping to payroll transaction type has been configured.
Transaction Type search is automatic
When you select this option, when the user clicks the search icon on the eTimesheets form, the form populates with the first 20 payroll transaction types. You don't need to click the Search button.
Transaction Type is mandatory
When selected, a valid payroll transaction type must be selected for each timesheet line.
You do not need to select the code if the job, activity, or work centre mapping to payroll transaction type is configured.
If the Display transaction type option is not selected and the mapping has not been configured, you cannot add timesheet lines.
Display Payroll Classification
When you select this option, it displays the Payroll classification field in the timesheet input. Users can optionally select a different classification to their default payroll setup on their masterfile.
Payroll Classification is mandatory
When selected, a valid payroll classification must be selected for each timesheet line.
Note: The user does not need to select the code if the job, activity, or work centre mapping to payroll classifications is configured. If the Display classification option is not selected and the mapping has not been configured, you can't add timesheet lines.
Default Transaction Type
Select the default payroll transaction type to use on a new detailed timesheet line if the user has not selected a transaction type on the timesheet and a job mapping does not exist.
Create Payroll GL lines
Select this option to separately update the job cost and the payroll. The eTimesheet lines update the job cost transactions. You can process the eTimesheets line on the Pay Entry form, which come through as general ledger lines.
Create Payroll JC lines
Select this option to simultaneously update the job cost and the payroll using the payroll when the eTimesheets have been processed in the payroll module.
No Job cost lines are created by eTimesheets. Job cost lines are only created by payroll once eTimesheets are processed into payroll.
Do not Create Payroll Lines
No payroll transactions are created. Job cost transactions are still created when timesheets are approved.
Use this option when the raw payroll data is to be collected when entering a timesheet, but not used for payroll, instead of being printed out for manual payroll updating.
Process eTimesheets using Timecards
Select this option to process eTimesheets to pay packets using the Timecards payroll module.
