Custom Tab
Use this tab to assign and display customer tree and user-defined field information for customers.
Note: If a customer tree is Mandatory, you can't save a new customer masterfile unless you have allocated the customer to a branch in that tree.
You can remove a customer from a tree using the Customer Tree Maintenance form.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Customer trees table
To assign a customer to a tree branch, double click the name of the tree in the table to display associated branches and then select or change the tree branch for the customer.
Customer fields table
Custom fields are set up using User Field Maintenance, and defaults to this table, enabling the assignment of a value. You don't need to assign values to user fields.
If the customer is linked to a CRM contact or organisation, Greentree Desktop synchronises user-defined fields. This applies the first time a customer is linked to a contact or organisation, and whenever UDF values are updated subsequent to that. This logic applies:
Organisation/Contact OA and Customer CA:
- For a boolean type UDF, OA updates CA.
- For a non-boolean type UDF, if OA has a value, then OA updates CA.
- For non-boolean type UDF, if OA has a null value, then CA updates OA.
