Credit Card Payment Gateways

If you are allowing anonymous credit card orders, and you selected an option other than Manual Clearance — for example, PayPal Pro or Transactor - enter the pertinent gateway details in this form. These details will be supplied to you by the gateway company.

Information

If you need or use a gateway that is not currently supported in Greentree Desktop, contact your Greentree consultant for assistance.

About Payment Gateways

Each payment gateway is owned and created by a third party company. The service offered by this company is available to anyone in either the local area or worldwide, who holds a bank account with one of the gateways supported banks.

This service allows a website (in this case Webstore) to connect through their interface and request clearance of a credit card for an amount supplied. The payment, if cleared, will be debited from the customers credit card, and deposited into your defined merchant bank account before confirmation of the order displays. If the credit card fails validation or does not have sufficient funds, the web user sees an error and the order placement aborted.

To set up a payment gateway in Greentree, use the Credit Card Gateway form.

Each credit card payment gateway has different settings and often involves setting up a test account with the gateway. This is often achieved by visiting the payment gateways website, but may also involve contacting a sales representative. By setting up a test account, you can test that orders work with valid credit card numbers. Nothing will be charged to the card but all the same validation information will be sent back as if the funds had been deducted. For more information about setting up a test account, view the payment gateway website for the vendor you have chosen.

Currently Webstore works with these credit card gateways:

All payment gateways currently available have default test settings in place. You should receive information about the settings to put into these fields when signing up to the gateway with a test account. If not, contact the vendor using the contact details on the web addresses above.

Registering Payment Gateway support files

The currently available gateway vendors require some files to be registered on the computer running your Webstore server. These gateway files are included in the file downloaded from the Greentree Webstore Resources site and can be found in your <GreentreePath>\Webstore\Gateway folder. These files are:

  • Transactor.dll
  • IRIEUtils.dll

To register each file select Start > Run and type regsvr32 path_here\file_name, where path_here is the full path to the file, and file_name is the file you are registering. If the file does not register, it may not require registration, just try to register each file downloaded and if it complains, type in the next one. You must restart Webstore after doing this.

For Verisign's Payflow Pro to work, a new folder should have been created during the extract named certs. This folder should contain a small certificate file. This certificate file does not must be registered.

All other supported Webstore gateways (for example, Protx, PayPalPro) use the Microsoft DLLs which are registered when Windows is installed.

Testing the payment gateway

When you have finished all other steps in the Webstore installation process, you can test the payment gateway using the test visa card number: 4111111111111111 with any valid expiry date after today's date. If the Webstore log complains of an ActiveX automation error when submitting your order, it means the DLL files above were not registered properly, try registering them again.

Going live with a Payment Gateway

After you have finished testing that orders are being placed smoothly, change the settings on this form to convert the payment gateway from test mode into live mode. This will most likely involve changing something like the host address or login value.
