Custom dictionaries

You can find the English dictionaries for spell checking in the Greentree system \bin folder. These include American, British, and Canadian English files - the preference is assigned at a company level using Company Maintenance. You can add custom dictionaries if required, separated by a semi-colon.

To create a custom dictionary for a company that uses specific terms, have one user add all the terms into the dictionary using the Add function. Once the required words are added to the user's dictionary, there will be a dictionary in the user's \bin folder called userdic.tlx. You can rename this file and copy it to the Greentree \bin folder. The file is copied to each user's computer when Greentree is next run. Enter the name of the new dictionary into the Custom dictionaries section on the User Preference form, and then all users will have access to the dictionary.

If you are running Greentree as as a multi-user system, where users share the same \bin folder, there is only be one user dictionary that all the users words is added to.

Information

You can also purchase custom dictionaries for specific business sectors — for example, hospital/medical.
