Troubleshooting
If fax functions are not working, you should:
- Check the processor is set up correctly.
- Launch the Greentree
Inspection Tool from the Fax processing
setup form and check the faxDeviceNumber,
The value 0 is correct for the modem in the Fax setup section of the Fax processor setup form. If there is more than one fax listed in that section, the value 1 will be correct for the next fax in the list, and so on. If you see a value of -1 or the value does not match the modem highlighted in the fax setup list, click the Query fax devices button on the Fax processor setup form (positioned below the fax setup section) to correct the problem
You can need to repeat this process more than once to correct where physical modem changes have been made.
- Re-test as above after selecting another processor to ensure the required modem is highlighted and corresponds to the faxDeviceNumber - the count should begin at 0.
- Open the file fm3032.ini
located in the \bin folder.
Using the settings in the file, try to send a fax to complete the checking process.
- Select a report, choose the output to fax option, click Print button, and then complete task/print queue details.
- Re-check the file fm3032.ini
to confirm the Reset and Init entries look like this:
Reset=AT
INIT=ATM0
Faxman should be working correctly. If you are still experiencing problems with Greentree, the cause is either an incorrect Dialling prefix or Initialisation string, which should reflect recommended settings for the internal phone system and modem. Data Techniques Support recommend the best initialisation string is:
AT&FE0V1&C1&D2S0=0,or with hardware flow control: AT&FE0V1&C1&D2&K3S0=0
