Trees

Using trees within reports maximises design flexibility in terms of being able to determine report output.

Information can be output to reports based on all branches within a tree, or selected branches within a tree. To add tree filtering options to a report, find the relevant tree in the database field list within the section, and drag it into the grey area of the repeating section. Trees are always prefixed with a tree image image.

Information The tree you select is only the default tree for the report - at runtime, you can select any of the trees set up for the relevant class.

Once a tree is positioned within a section, additional tree-related options is available at runtime.

This field displays the name of the sections for which trees may be selected to determine the report/section output.

Main tree

You can select a tree from a list of trees set up for the module of the section class - in this case, Inventory Items. The default value is the tree that was originally dragged into the repeating section when the report was created. The report prints information for items belonging to the selected tree. If you want to narrow the report output down further so that information only prints for items belonging to specific branches within the tree, click Set Branches.

To select a branch, click on it with the mouse. To select multiple branches, hold down the Shift key and click each branch you want to include (or just the first and last branch if you are selecting a range). Click Select to update the output criteria to include only items belonging to selected branches.
