IN Analysis Code Maintenance
You define the import costing parameters Overhead % and Import Duty Code at the IN Analysis Code level.
Overhead %
If you want to update the cost of inventory items in a shipment using the application of a fixed percentage overhead rate (for example, to spread administrative costs) upon receipt, you can assign an overhead percentage at an analysis code level. Greentree calculates overhead values when a shipment is saved (or received using the Create Receipt option in Shipment Entry) and add them to the total landed cost of the shipment.
For example, an overhead percentage of 5.00 is assigned to analysis code CABLES. When shipment lines with the analysis code CABLES are saved (or received), Greentree adds 5% to the line cost of those items. The sum of the 5% additions becomes the total overhead value associated with the shipment.
When each shipment line is received, the item's last (and subsequently average) cost updates using the shipment/receipt line cost +5.00%. The general ledger updates with a debit to the item's Stock On Hand Account, and a credit to the Overhead Recovery Account, which is specified in General Ledger Module Control - Integration.

This calculation takes place regardless of whether additional charges are added to a shipment. If additional charges are added to a shipment, the overhead % is calculated first, before any additional charges are apportioned and added to item costs. |
Import Duty Code
If you are using the duty function, all imported inventory items must have a duty code assigned to them so Greentree can calculate the duty for shipment lines. Duty codes are set up in Duty Code Maintenance, and you can assign them to individual items or at an analysis code level here.
Assign duty codes by analysis code when all items with the same analysis code are subject to the same duty rules. When duty is calculated, Greentree checks whether the item has a duty code assigned first, and if it does not find one, it uses the duty code assigned to the item's analysis code.

You must assign a duty code to analysis codes. You can assign the code NONE (no duty applies) where duty is not applicable. |
