Job Cost
Use this tab to define how your payroll module will integrate to Job Cost if you're using Job Costing.
Job Cost Integration
If you are integrating your payroll module to Job Cost one of these two options must be chosen for time and disbursement lines:
- Use Actual Payroll Cost - If this option is chosen the jobs will be updated with the payroll cost plus any mark up that is defined on the pay transaction type. Any variance between the cost and the mark up will be dispersed to the job cost recovery accounts defined in the job cost module in either employee type maintenance or the activity code. The recovery accounts to be used depend on whether the transaction type is a time activity or disbursement activity.
- Use JC Standard Cost - If this option is chosen the job will be updated with the costs as defined in the job cost module. Pay transaction types are linked to the job cost by selecting whether they are time or disbursement transactions. The standard costs are then obtained from either the employee type or activity code in the job cost module dependant on whether the transaction is a time or disbursement entry.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Allow Job Cost Lines Checkbox
You can select this checkbox if you want for job cost lines to be able to be added to pays. When selected this checkbox will initiate access to other Module Control job cost options.
Show employee details in JC
Select this option to show employee details in Job Cost. If deselected, the reference in Job Cost is the pay number.
Use Actual Payroll Cost
If the allow job cost lines option is selected you then have the option to define if you want cost reports to use actual payroll costs rather than job cost standard costs. Job Cost will be updated with the cost amounts entered on the pay.
Use Job Cost Standard Cost
If the allow job cost lines option is selected you then have the option to define if you want cost reports to use job cost standard costs rather than actual payroll costs. Job Cost will be updated with the same cost as would be calculated if the line was entered directly into the Job Cost module.
Show details in JC Narration
Select which options from the payroll line that you want to be added to the narration of the JC line. The selected options will append on the line.
