Accumulator Maintenance
An accumulator is a collection of transaction type(s) whose values are used as the basis for the calculation of a value for another transaction type. Accumulators are also used for reporting and obtaining information for summary tree analysis.
You can use accumulators for taxation calculations. When your payroll module was installed a default accumulator was installed for taxation called Taxable, containing all the transaction types used in your payroll that should be included in the calculation of an employee's taxable income. When a pay is entered or processed, Greentree will total all the taxable transaction types for an employee and then apply the tax scales to obtain the tax payable for the pay period.
You can use the taxable accumulator in a summary tree to obtain the taxable income of all employees within your business. You can also use accumulators to calculate superannuation (compulsory and voluntary) or allowances that are based on other earnings.
