Security Tab


Use this tab to control which Users have access to reporting on sensitive Payroll and HR data.

The Show Data in Explorer option controls whether the HR Classes are available when accessing the Explorer function from the File menu. If you have access to the Explorer function, the class of the form that you are accessing Explorer from will be able to be searched on regardless of this setting.

When using the Browser module to view pay slips, only your pay slips will be visible unless you can access to payroll transactions in Browser.

When the Payroll module is not in use, the Salary tab on the Employee Maintenance form becomes available.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Show HR data in Explorer

This checkbox controls whether the HR Classes are available when accessing the Explorer function from the File menu, or from any other form.

If you have access to the Explorer function, the class of the form that you are accessing Explorer from can be searched on regardless of this setting.

Allow reporting on Payroll transactions

This checkbox restricts reports being run by users from the generic reports menu when the user has access to the HR module, but not access to sensitive payroll data. A user may have access to an employee for HR purposes, but if this option is not selected all reports containing payroll data returns no results.

Allow access to Payroll transactions in Browser

This checkbox allows a user to view other employees' pay slips in the browser where the user has access to the employee record.

Show HR Salary information

This option is enabled when the Payroll module is not in use.

Select this option to display a tab on the employee form to enable entering salary information.
