GL Account Maintenance - Global Finance
If both the Translations and Consolidations modules are in use, you can access a Translation form within GL Account Maintenance/Global Finance.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Use currency historical rates
The default value is false, enabling you to choose a translation level and rate type. If it is set to true, the transaction level is forced to Transaction and you will not be able to select a rate type. In this situation, each transaction in the general ledger account uses the exchange rate of the posting date of the transaction.
Translation level
If the translation level used in the Generate Translation process is GL Account, the process will translate using the level set for the account:
- Summary level - The balance of the General Ledger period summary will be translated.
- Transaction level - Tach transaction will be translated.

If you are using GF Consolidations, ensure your translated values are at the same level as the consolidation. |
Translation Rate type
Select <Module default> to use the defaults assigned in Translation Module Control for different types of accounts (for example, income or expense). If you want to change the Module Control default, you can select a specific rate type to use for the selected account. Rate types are set up in the Customise Reporting Exchange Rates form. The rate type determines the rate that is used for the translation.
