Update from Other Ledgers
This process updates transactions from other modules to the General Ledger. It is enabled if the Online option is not selected for the module in General Ledger Module Control Integration. When the Online option is selected for the module, transactions are updated to the general ledger when they are created.

Even where online posting is not enabled, you can still view all General Ledger transactions from other ledgers using the GL Account Enquiry form. There are filter options within the enquiry form that allow you to view both Posted and Unposted transactions. Transactions that are unposted do not affect account balances. |
This process posts transactions to general ledger accounts, and updates the balances of those accounts.
Enter a Reference for the update. This will ideally include the date to indicate when the update was processed. You can recall previous updates using this reference by clicking the Reverse button.
Enter an Update date - all transactions entered using selected modules with a date that is less than or equal to the date specified is included in the update process.
Select the modules you want to update to the General Ledger from the Modules available list. Selected modules will move into the Update from list, and these are the modules that are included in the process.
Press F2 or click the Save icon. A progress bar appears at the bottom of the form to indicate progress. Once the update is complete, all transactions for selected modules will have been updated to General Ledger. To view details of the individual transactions that were included in the process, access the Update Log form on the main processing form.
When you process an update, transactions post to the period associated with their posting date. If Greentree cannot determine which general ledger account should be updated (it cannot construct an account where wildcards and hierarchies are applied), the transaction will be updated to the General Ledger Suspense Account that is specified in GL Module Control.
