General Ledger Structure Setup
When you are installing the Greentree system, you will be guided through a setup wizard to ensure that you complete the required pre-requisite setup steps before using Greentree for the first time. Setting up the General Ledger Structure is one of the tasks performed at this time.
On the form that displays, click Setup GL Structure to define the General Ledger Structure you want to use in Greentree Desktop.
Select the Segment separation character from a list of pre-defined separators. Then, click Add new segment to add the first GL segment (for example, Branch). Nominate the segment Type (for example, Alphanumeric), and define the segment Length. To add more than one segment, keep pressing Add new segment and define each segment until the structure is complete.
Note: The total length of a General Ledger account, including separators, cannot exceed 32 characters, or 16 segments.
Press F2 or click the Save icon to save your definition and close the form.
The setup wizard will continue to guide you through the remaining setup steps.
