Account Group Maintenance
Use this form to set up different users to have access to different/limited information, within a single reporting tree. Each report is assigned a security structure using Report Maintenance.
Account security is applied to segments of the general ledger structure. The general ledger structure must have at least one segment that can be referenced with regard to reporting security. Security is determined by a combination of account access and user access.
Options Reference
Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.
Code
Enter a code to represent the security structure, up to 30 alphanumeric characters long.
Description
Enter an extended description for the security structure.
Excel Short name
Enter a description to use when naming a tab within a workbook or a workbook that is for a report using this security structure level.
Existing
This panel displays the structure as it is currently set up. Right click to display these menu items:
- Add New Item - Select this option to add a new branch to the general ledger account security structure.
- Delete Item - Select this option to delete a branch. You must select this while positioned on the branch you want to delete.
Code
Enter a code for the branch, up to 30 alphanumeric characters long.
Description
Enter an extended description for the branch.
Excel Short name
Enter a dscription to use when naming a tab within a workbook or a workbook that is for a report using this security structure level.
Parent
Select the parent branch for the new (sub) branch. If the branch you are creating is a parent branch, then select <None>.
Account
Use this section of the form to specify which segments of the general ledger structure which determine the accounts users can view. Enter an account mask that matches your general ledger structure and specifies what the security filtering criteria is. For example, any value is valid in the second and third segments of the General Ledger account, but the first segment must have 10 in it.
Users assigned to this security structure will only see accounts with 10 in the first segment for company 01 when they are viewing reports using WebView.
Company
Type the company code that the account selection is to apply to. If all companies have the same structure and segments then leave this empty and it applies to all companies.
All Users
Select this option if the account security is to apply to all users. Otherwise, select users individually from the list of available users.
Available Users
This section displays a list of all WebView system users. Use the select/deselect arrows as applicable to select users to assign to the account security.
Selected Users
This section of the form displays the list of users you have assigned to the account security.
The account and user security settings display on the right side of the main Web Security Maintenance form for each branch, when you are positioned are the branch.
Delete
Click this button delete a branch.
Update
Click this button to save changes made to a security tree.
