Load Accounts

This option opens allows General Ledger tree structures and their associated general ledger accounts to be loaded from Greentree Trees into Excel. It is the fastest way of creating a new spreadsheet based on Greentree General Ledger accounts. The Greentree database must be open before this option can be accessed. The works with Greentree using the Maintenance > General Ledger > Load Accounts menu:

The starting point for the load is always the current cell. Before retrieving the tree structure from Greentree the process examines the Excel spreadsheet from the current cell position to determine if it is safe to load the structure. If the process finds that the load would overwrite any cell with a formula in it, then the load process is aborted and an error message displayed.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Company

The Greentree company to draw the trees and accounts from.

Tree

The Greentree GL Account tree name to draw the structure from.

Branch

The Greentree tree branch to draw the structure from. This may be left empty to load the entire tree structure. The tree branch can be a full path.

Include Sub Trees

A flag that indicates if the tree structure should be followed down. If True, then the structure will be followed down the number of levels indicated in the associated box. A maximum of 8 levels is allowed (this is a limit imposed by Excel Outlining). If False, then only the level immediately below the tree branch combination specified will be loaded.

Load Accounts

Determines if tree branch accounts are loaded or not. If False, then only the tree branch structure is loaded. If True, then all accounts attached to each branch are loaded too.

Use Outline

Determines if Excel Outlining is to be used in the display of the tree branch structure. If True, Excel Outlining is used. If False, Outlining is not used and the tree branch structure displays by moving one column to the right for each level in the structure. For more information on Outlining, see the Microsoft Excel Help.

Load Across

Changes the orientation of the load function from down rows to across columns. All other parameters remain the same.
