Custom Tab

Use this tab to assign and display tree and user-defined field information for Organisations.

InformationIf an Organisation tree is defined as Mandatory, then you can't save a new Organisation unless you have allocated the Organisation to a branch in that tree.

If you want to remove an Organisation from a tree, you cannot do this in Organisation Maintenance. This must be performed using the Organisation Tree Maintenance feature.

Options Reference

Each option and field on the form is described below. Mandatory options and fields are highlighted in red.

Trees

A tree is a hierarchy of classifications that represents meaningful groups of items that your company deals with. Trees are available throughout CRM. You can allocate an Item to a specific Branch within a Tree. This field lists all the Trees available for the item, and the allocated Branch.

To view the Tree Structure and to select a Tree Branch, you must drill down on the Value field for the Tree. Select a Branch. To change a Tree Branch, drill down and select a Branch.

Note:

  • Trees are defined in System > Trees > Tree Maintenance.
  • To remove a Tree Branch allocated to an Organisation, you must use the Organisation Trees item located within CRM > System > Relationships.

UDF (user-defined) Fields

Custom fields give you the ability to define the additional fields you require for a specific CRM item. Custom fields are defined in CRM > System, located under the CRM Item it relates to. Defined custom fields appear in this field. You can enter and edit the values of custom fields.

If the organisation is a customer or supplier also (set up in AR Customer Maintenance or AP Supplier Maintenance), Greentree will synchronise UDF fields where applicable. This applies the first time an organisation is linked to a customer/supplier, and whenever UDF values are updated subsequent to that. This logic applies:

Organisation OA and Customer CA:

  • For a boolean type UDF, OA updates CA;
  • For a non-boolean type UDF, if OA has a value, then OA updates CA;
  • For non-boolean type UDF, if OA has a null value, then CA updates OA.
