Duplicated Contacts

The duplicated Contacts search form enables you to search for duplicated Contacts based on a range of Contact Codes. You can also perform the search for all Contacts through leaving the From and To Code fields blank.

The duplicate search returns a list of duplicate Contacts based on any of these (with spaces and special characters removed):

• Email Address
• Business Phone
• Name: Deduplication Word Maintenance enables you to specify words that you want to have ignored during the duplication check.
• First letter of Full Name appended to Surname

The duplicate Contacts appear in the table. You can select the duplicated Contact and maintain it through the Maintain Duplicates button. Click this button to open the Duplication Maintenance form.

Duplication Maintenance

The Duplication Maintenance form lists all the duplicate records for the selected Contact. You can perform these actions:

• Drill down on the duplicate and delete the record.
• If the record is similar but not a duplicate record, then you select the Non-Dup option and save. This marks the record as a non-duplicate (for the selected Contact) so that it will not be retrieved when you search on duplicates in the future.
• Click the Show Non-Dup button to view all records that were previously marked as non-duplicate, so that you can maintain the Non-Dup indicator.

Note:

• A duplication check is performed when a New Contact is created through the Contact Maintenance form.
• The Duplication Maintenance form can be accessed through the Verified button on the Contact Maintenance form.
• The Contact Import script enables you to indicate how duplicate records should be processed.

Contact From and To

Select the Contact range you want to base the duplicated search on from the From and To search fields.

Duplicated Contacts Table

This table lists all possible duplicates for the Contact codes you selected. The duplicate search is based on Email Address, Business Phone, Contact Name and First letter of Full Name appended to Surname.
