JC Work Centre Plans

In Data Entry > Job Cost > Job Maintenance / Main the option to Use work centre plan is provided. If selected, the work centre and activity codes available during transaction entry are determined by the settings on the Work centre plan assigned to the job.

Work Centre Plans are maintained via System > Job Cost >Work Centre Plan Maintenance.

Limit Activity Codes at selection

Limit Activity Codes at selection controls the behaviour of activity code selection during entry of JC and IN lines allocated to a Job.

Defaults to selected for new Work Centre Plans.

If selected:

Activity codes are:

restricted based on the Job's Work Centre Plan during line entry.

If unselected:

Activity codes are:

not restricted to the Activity Group on the Work Centre level during line entry
validated on Save.

Valid Activity Codes

For timesheet lines, the Activity droplist displays activity codes:

of Type = Time
that belong to the employee's Activity Group.

Where an activity code has only one valid work centre, this will automatically populate Work Centre

Where Work Centre is selected first:

Activity codes are limited by the Work Centre assigned
Only those activity codes that belong to the Activity Group assigned to the Work Centre are available for selection.

Valid Work Centres

For timesheet lines, the Work Centre droplist displays work centres that:

belong to the Job's Work Centre Plan
have Posting Level selected
not be complete ie, the Default % Complete value must be less than 100% and Actual Complete date blank
have the employee assigned to it.

Where a work centre has only one valid activity code, this will automatically populate Activity.

Where the Activity code is selected first:

Work Centres are limited by the Activity code selected.
Only those Work Centres whose Activity Group contains the assigned activity code are available for selection.
if only one Work Centre exists, this is defaulted.

The Activity Code / Work Centre combination are validated on saving the transaction line.
