Custom lists don’t appear in the Select from List window for form fields

In the Select from List window, custom lists are identified by list number, not by their name. To insert a custom list field, select Card Custom List 1, Card Custom List 2 or Card Custom List 3 from the list.

Two or more custom lists were included a report, but the report contains no data

When you use more than one custom list to filter reports, only data that matches all your filter selections will appear. For example, if you are preparing a sales report and you apply two custom list filters: one that defines a geographic area and one that is for wholesale customers, only data for wholesale customers in that specific area will appear. If you want data that fits either or both of the custom list criteria, you will need to run separate reports.

Importing tips

Nothing appears in the Import Fields column of the Import Data window

▪	Check that you have selected the correct file format (comma or tab separated).

▪	Check that you have selected the correct type of record to import.

Some data was not imported

▪	Check that you selected all the required import fields.

▪	Check that you selected the correct method of identifying imported records.

▪	Check the import data log file for an explanation of why some records may have been skipped. The log file is automatically saved to your software installation folder as a .txt file. The file is called EdgeLOG.txt.

The log file displays a numeric error or warning code for each imported record. At the bottom of the log file, there is a list of all errors and warnings issued and their meanings.

The spreadsheet (or database) doesn’t save files in tab- or comma-separated formats

Open your spreadsheet or database in a text editor (such as Notepad) or any other program that allows you to save the data in a tab-separated or comma-separated file. Then import the file into your company file.

Item tips

Changing the price of an item when making a sale

To change an item’s price on a sale, enter the updated amount in the Price field of the Sales window. The new price will be applied only to the current sale and no change will be made to the item price in your inventory.

Changing an item’s history can affect some reports

Some reports in your software are based on an item’s history, such as the Item Sales History report. If you change an item’s history, you will affect the totals that appear on this report and you cannot automatically revert the amounts to their original totals.
